Every submission is confirmed by a one-click email link, so the responses you keep are real.
A response is only useful if you can trust it. Most form tools accept whatever is typed in, which means your results quietly fill up with typos in email fields, throwaway addresses, and automated spam. Formius takes a different default: every submission has to be confirmed by the person who made it before it counts.
This happens automatically on every form. When someone submits, Formius stores the response as pending and emails them a one-click verification link. The moment they click it, the response is confirmed and counted. Nothing about this is optional or something you have to set up, it is on for every form you publish.
How verification works
When a respondent submits your form, Formius does not immediately add the answer to your totals. Instead it saves the submission as pending and sends the respondent an email, delivered through Resend, with a single verification link. Clicking that link confirms the submission and moves it into your verified responses.
Because the link is sent to the exact address that was entered, clicking it proves the respondent actually owns that inbox. A mistyped or fake address never receives the link, so it never becomes a counted response. Verification is always on and cannot be turned off, so this guarantee holds for every form without any configuration on your side.
Why it matters
Requiring a confirmed email removes a whole class of bad data before it ever reaches you:
- Spam and automated submissions drop off, because a bot cannot click a link in a real person inbox.
- Email typos are caught at the source: if the address is wrong, the link is never received and the entry never counts.
- Fake or throwaway entries are filtered out, since only a genuinely owned address can complete verification.
- The contact details you collect are tied to a real, confirmed email you can actually reach.
A friendly experience for respondents
Verification is one click, not a form to fill in or an account to create. The respondent submits, opens the email, and clicks the link to confirm.
If someone clicks a link that has already been used, Formius shows a friendly "already confirmed" success state rather than a confusing error. People often click twice or reopen the email later, and the flow treats that as the success it is instead of alarming them.
Only verified responses count
Pending submissions sit apart from your real results. Only verified responses count toward a form totals, so the numbers you report and the data you export reflect confirmed people, not raw form hits. This keeps your response counts honest and your follow-up lists clean, and it means the analytics you act on are built on data you can stand behind.
